Description
Star fruit or Carambola (Kordoi কৰ্দৈ) — is a sweet and sour fruit that has the shape of a five-point star. The skin is edible and the flesh has a mild, sour flavor that makes it popular in a number of dishes.
Medicinally, the fruit acts as a laxative and is used in traditional medicine against fever, skin disorders, high blood pressure, and diabetes.
It is high in vitamin C, tannin & fiber which helps to regulate intestinal processes and had been found to be an effective cure for diarrhoea, also helps to regulate the digestive system.
Most commonly used in Pickle & Squash.
